Akio Katsuragi

Before co-founding Crosspoint Advisors, Akio Katsuragi was the President of Lehman Brothers Japan Inc. He joined Lehman Brothers Japan Inc. in 2001 and was appointed to the firm’s Asia Executive Committee in 2004.

Prior to Lehman Brothers, he was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Japan (1998-2001), where he served as the Head of Corporate Finance Department in the Investment Banking Division and a member of the Tokyo Operating Committee. Prior to Morgan Stanley, he was at Goldman Sachs (1993-1998), where he was responsible for covering Japanese financial institutions and corporations out of New York, and later retuned to Tokyo to become the Head of Financial Institutions Group in Japan.

Mr. Katsuragi started his career in 1977 at the Industrial Bank of Japan, Ltd.

He received his LL.B. degree from the University of Tokyo, Master of Law from University of Washington, and Fellowship/Master degree from the Law School at University of Pennsylvania.

Shun Maeda

Before co-founding Crosspoint Advisors, Shunichi Maeda was a Managing Director and the Vice Chairman of Global Banking at Deutsche Securities Inc.Prior to Deutsche Securities, he was a Deputy President and Executive Officer at Lehman Brothers Japan Inc. (2003-April 2008)

Mr. Maeda began his career in 1969 at Mitsubishi Corporation, where he founded the firm’s Corporate Finance (M&A) team. He was the President and CEO of New York-based MC Financial Services Ltd. and the CEO of MC Capital (1990-2003), where he developed merchant banking, private equity and other financial services capabilities in the Americas for Mitsubishi Corporation. He had also served on the World Bank (1984-1987) in Washington D.C.

He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at Keio University and holds an MBA with honors from Columbia University. He is a special advisor to Turnaround Management Association (Japan) and a member of Advisory Council of Columbia Business School Club of Japan.

In addition to his career as a corporate financier and global business professional, he lectures at various universities in Japan and is an established commentator in the field. He is an accomplished writer and translator of business publications on M&A, private equity, corporate restructuring and other related topics.

Hiroshi Nonomiya

Before joining Crosspoint Advisors, Mr. Nonomiya was a representative director of RHJ International Japan (2005-2012), where he was responsible for sourcing investment targets, creating value for acquired companies and exiting from investments. Mr. Nonomiya joined Ripplewood’s New York office in 1996 and transferred to Tokyo in 1999 to lead the founding of Ripplewood Japan fund.

Prior to joining Ripplewood, he was an Assistant General Manager of the Merchant Banking Department at Mitsubishi Corporation in Tokyo (1994-1996), and was a Managing Director of MCF Financial Services Limited(1991-1994). From 1986 to 1990, he was an Investment Manager at Mitsubishi Euro-Africa S.A. (London).

Mr. Nonomiya began his career at Mitsubishi Corporation in 1974.

He received a B.A. in Liberal Arts Culture from Tokyo University and an MBA from INSEAD in France.

Tetsu Serizawa

Before co-founding Crosspoint Advisors, Tetsu Serizawa was a Managing Director at Nomura Securities and Lehman Brothers Japan Inc. He joined Lehman Brothers Japan Inc. in 2002 and was named a Deputy President of the firm and a Co-head of Fixed Income Sales in Asia.

Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, he was a Managing Director and the Head of Fixed Income Sales in Japan at Deutsche Securities Inc. (1999-2002), and a Managing Director at Bankers Trust based in New York and Tokyo (1990-1999).

Mr. Serizawa began his career at Mitsui & Co. in 1978.

He received a BS from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Engineering, and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Hidekazu Katao

Before joining Crosspoint Advisors in September 2013, Hidekazu Katao was Managing Director of Monex Hambrecht, Inc.

Prior to joining Monex Hambrecht, he was a Senior Advisor of office of Information Industry at Mitsui & Co.(2002), and he was in the Investment Banking Division at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (formerly The Sakura Bank, Limited.)(1997).

He received a BA from the University of Tsukuba, and MBA from Keio University, Business Administration.

Noby Ota

Before joining Crosspoint Advisors in June 2016, Noby Ota was Executive Officer of Japanese mobile game developer KLab Inc. and CEO of KLab America (San Francisco) where he led the company’s business expansion in the Americas and EMEA. Prior to KLab, he was Director of cross border BD at ngmoco/DeNA (San Francisco) and was instrumental in the sourcing and execution of DeNA’s acquisition of ngmoco (DeNA West).

Before his move to Silicon Valley, Mr. Ota was extensively involved in M&A, structured finance and investment banking in Tokyo and New York. His career includes tenures at GE Capital where he strategized and executed BD, marketing, and new product development initiatives. At Nidec, he established and led the highly successful M&A team, responsible for all aspects of domestic and cross-border acquisitions and divestitures involving Nidec Group companies and played key roles in deal sourcing, negotiation, execution, and post-merger integration for domestic and cross-border transactions.

Mr. Ota earned his BA in Law from Keio University in 1988 and started his career at Mitsubishi Bank (Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ).

Kiyoshi Tsugawa

Kiyoshi Tsugawa is a Member of the Board at Aozora Bank, Ltd.

He started his career in 1956 at the Bank of Tokyo, Ltd., where he later became the President & CEO of Bank of Tokyo International Plc. (London), the General Manager of the International Investment Division, and a Director (Board Member)/General Manager of the Capital Market Division No.1.

In 1987, he joined S.G. Warburg Securities (Japan) Inc. as the Chairman & President. In 1995, he joined Lehman Brothers Japan Inc. as the Chairman, and later became an Executive Advisor and a Member of the Advisory Board in 2004. In 2004, he joined Aozora Bank, Ltd. as a Director.

He was previously the Chairman of Aramark Asia Management, LLC, a Director at AM Service, and a Special Advisor to Hartford Life Insurance K.K.

He received his LL.B. degree from the University of Tokyo.

Koichi Suzuki

Koichi Suzuki is a Co-Founder of Crosspoint Advisors.

He is also the President, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (“IIJ”), an Internet connectivity and network-related services provider listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Section1 and NASDAQ (ticker: IIJI). He began his career in 1972 at the Japan Management Association, and later co-founded IIJ in 1992.

Mr. Suzuki is the chairman of the board of the SPRING FESTIVAL IN TOKYO -Tokyo Opera Nomori-, one of the best known opera events in Japan.

He received a BA from Waseda University.
